Our Pastors Mark and Gina Burke

Mark and Gina

The son of missionary parents, Pastor Mark grew up on Guam during the Vietnam conflict. He has been involved in ministry to military members since he was in his early teens. He considers himself an island boy and believes that the Lord raised him and trained him to serve in ministry to the military, recalling having military members sleeping on his living room floor for much of his formative years, forming lifetime friendships. He met his lovely wife, Gina when her parents were stationed on Guam in the Air Force, and they have been working together in ministry for over 40 years.

Mark served as a member of the Navy Crash Rescue Division as a DOD civilian Fire Fighter at Naval Air Station Guam, then as part of the Federal Fire Department Guam, rising to the rank of Captain. He received his license to preach and became assistant pastor and worship leader in his father’s church, and acted as interim pastor while his father was on itinerary, all while serving in the Fire Department. In 1993 he quit the Fire Department after 15 years to pursue full time ministry. After his father’s retirement, He transferred His credentials to the Church of God and served as the worship leader in the Yigo Church of God Fellowship Center until He was appointed Pastor in 1997. He’s been working for the Lord at Yigo Church of God Fellowship Center ever since.
